In 1957, at a time when it had already established itself as the “official supplier to world aviationâ€, Breitling set out to conquer the seas by launching the Superocean, a professional diver’s watch that also appealed to the first enthusiasts of leisure diving. A contemporary re-edition of this historical model, the Superocean Héritage draws strongly upon its origins. The dial bears the 1950s logo, with the Breitling signature topped by an 18-carat gold version of the initial B. It is equipped with the same triangular and luminescent hour hand ensuring easy readability even in the darkness prevailing at great depths. The steel mesh bracelet is also inspired by the design of the first model. While it undoubtedly appeals by its original look and its subtle vintage touch, the Superocean Héritage also benefits from the latest high- tech developments, including the construction of the unidirectional 120-toothed bezel, water resistance to 200 meters (660 ft), the thick scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides, and the chronometer- certified mechanical selfwinding movement. A watch with a rich past designed for modern-day explorers.
